Watch Feng perform Elgar’s Violin Concerto

In February 2017, Feng joined Carlos Miguel Prieto and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Elgar’s Violin Concerto. The performance at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall was captured by River Rea Films – click here to watch extracts.

Following the performance in February, Feng and the orchestra recorded both the Elgar concerto and the Finzi Violin Concerto, conducted by Prieto, for his next concerto album with Channel Classics. The album is currently slated for release in 2018 and will be preceded by an album of Bach works for solo violin.

Feng’s last album for Channel Classics, Apassionado (2016), was a well-received recording of works by Sarasate, Lalo, Ravel and Waxman:

“His technique is beyond cavil, of course, but he also plays with a purity and sweetness of tone rare among the current crop of virtuosi.”
Audiophile Audition, July 2016

“Here he brings his dazzling fingerwork and romantic lyricism to passionate music from Spain and its neighbour France. Daring virtuosity and perfectly pitched sweetness throughout.”
Classic FM, March 2016
