Feng performs at Channel Islands Liberation Concert
On 10 May, Feng travels to Jersey to perform at a concert celebrating the Channel Islands’ liberation from Nazi occupation in World War Two. Feng joins Leonard Elschenbroich, So-Ock Kim, Rose Ventris, Isang Wenders and Wu Qian for the concert at Jersey Opera House. The Channel Islands were occupied between June 1940 and May 1945 and were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied during the war.
Together, Feng and his collaborators perform a programme of Shostakovich’s Three Pieces for Two Violins, Beethoven’s ‘Archduke’ Piano Trio and Schubert’s String Quintet in C. Feng also speaks in a pre-concert event, and the concert also features personal stories about the occupation and liberation.
